NAKED JAZZ, as a Creative Art Movement, officially began in 1992. It was the re-organization of musical relationships born in1988, upon the arrival of Eric Vaughn in Atlanta, Ga.. It was first documented on the Savoy Jazz label as a compilation recording of the “young lion” musicians of the Atlanta jazz scene. The tag line for Naked Jazz is: Naked-ivity is Vibe, Spirit, and Attitude. These are the components we are seeking to embrace and communicate to our audiences in our execution of what has now gone on to include not just jazz, but other creative music, visual arts , and dance. We have most recently incorporated / integrated mental and spiritual-health activities such as yoga and message into our musical performances. In the performance and composition of our art, we are intensely focused on creative excellence and spiritual freedom. Our divisions as of 2011 and recent establishment in Europe are : Naked Jazz, Naked Art, Naked Music and Dance. Naked jazz is now a permanent fixture in Europe as Eric Vaughn is residing part time in Berlin as of January 2011, and is now performing and touring with the elite of this new community of sound. He has most recently re-introduced the “Naked Jazz” brand in Europe and is composing/ arranging material for a major tour of the brand and it`s music in 2014. Currently the brand offers a variety of merchandise including shirts, caps etc., all displaying some form of the Naked Jazz philosophy. As a composer/ arranger Vaughn has worked on musical projects for both CNN and Walt Disney. Vaughn has performed, toured collaborated or recorded with: James Moody, Cedar Walton, Freddy Cole, Reginald Veal, Cyrus Chestnut, Russel Malone, Wycliff Gordon, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Nicolas Payton, Maurice Brown, Victor Goines, Ben Tucker Trio, Johnny O`Neal Trio, Pianist Joe Jones, Doug Carne, Freddy Hubbard, Audrey Shakir, Kelvin Sholar, Kofi Burbridge, Eddie Pizant, Teddy Adams Quintett, Life Force feat.
