The XJAZZ festival is about collaboration, tradition and looking towards the future of music. Hosted at the Riverside Studios in Kreuzberg, Berlin, Ableton is proud to be part of the event for the first time.
A masterclass workshop will be held by LA-based artist Mark de Clive Lowe, an avant-garde soulful Pianist, DJ and Producer who will offer a detailed insight into his creative process, and share production tips with Ableton Live. You’ll also get the chance to try out Push and Live, and collaborate with others using iOS apps with Ableton’s new technology, Link. There’ll be a focus on creative music making, active participation and having fun – which we hope will make for an enjoyable and valuable afternoon.

Mark de Clive-Lowe

Keyboardist-producer-DJ Mark de Clive-Lowe (MdCL) improvises a live set remixing samples from the legendary Blue Note Records catalog into a live on-the-fly mixtape performance. Half Japanese, half New Zealander, MdCL is based in LA and seemlessly bridges the gap between jazz musician and live electronic artist. A veteran of the UK’s early 2000’s broken beat scene and collaborator with house, drum’n’bass and jazz legends, MdCL is literally an uncategorizable talent. "If Duke Ellington had been a DJ, this might be what he would have done." - LA Weekly
